Child Safety Commitment Statement
The Board of Southern Sydney Synagogue does not tolerate any kind of child abuse.
The Board is committed to the safety, protection and well-being of children and young people from all forms of abuse and neglect and aims to foster a child safe culture at the Synagogue.
The Board makes every effort to provide an environment of safety and support for children and young people who attend any Synagogue services or events.
As the Board of an organisation that could potentially provide services specifically for children, we recognise our responsibility to be familiar and up to date with the relevant legislation, including the NSW Child Safe Standards, and through our actions support their intent.
Further, we recognise our responsibility to maintain an ongoing awareness of potential obligation in regard to child safety due to change of circumstances, and the need to act accordingly.
Child refers to any youth from birth through 18 years old.Relevant Legislation: The Children’s Guardian Amendment (Child Safe Scheme) Bill 2021
