We are a modern orthodox synagogue, centrally located in Southern Sydney. We draw our membership mostly from the St. George, Sutherland Shire and adjacent areas and being a warm and friendly community, welcome visitors and newcomers.
We are a synagogue large enough to be fully functional but small enough not to be impersonal. Our members are not anonymous; they are valued individuals and new members will have the opportunity to participate in a full spiritual and community life.
Services
These are held on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings as well as on all festivals. A traditional Kiddush follows the Shabbat morning service. For times please refer to What’s On.
Cheder
Classes are currently suspended.
Social Activities
Our social committee conducts many and varied functions throughout the year not only to entertain and stimulate us but also to raise funds.
Or Hadash
Our newsletter is published regularly before festivals and is e-mailed or posted to congregants. It carries items of religious, social and practical interest. Contributions are always welcome.
Minister
Our Minister and spiritual leader is Rabbi Mani Holzman.
Administration
The affairs of the synagogue are administered by a Board of Directors which is elected at the Annual General Meeting, generally held in November.
Our Area
The synagogue is located in the small suburb of Allawah, close to Hurstville, Kogarah and Brighton and not far from Rockdale to the north and the Sutherland Shire to the south. The Sydney Airport is some 20 minutes away.
